North Wales
Theosophy
The
Colwyn bay Lodge continued to meet at this
building until the Lodge sadly closed in 1997
The
early history of the Theosophical
Society in North Wales mainly centres around the pioneering work
done by Mrs Duckworth and Miss Chambres in lecturing
and organizing, and who were mainly responsible for the formation of the first
Centre in Colwyn Bay in 1917.
Mr
Cecil Williams was appointed their first secretary, and with the willing help
of Mr and Mrs J H Clegg, and Miss S Magee, they were soon able to apply for a
Lodge Charter.
Colwyn
Bay Lodge received its Charter from Adyar on March 1st 1919. Mr J H

Other North Wales Lodges soon
followed
Rhyl Lodge chartered on November 6th 1920. Mr
